Our Story

The origin of Glassmoon

Glassmoon’s identity is deeply connected to the moon. Carole Edmond, Glassmoon CEO and Founder, was conceived on the night of Neil Armstrong’s moon landing, earning the nickname ‘moon baby’ from her father. Years later, while researching late at night under the light of a full moon, Carole had a breakthrough moment. Struggling with the idea of glass ceilings and barriers in careers, she realised that overcoming these obstacles was akin to reaching for the moon—symbolising ambition and the union of technology and determination.

This epiphany led to the creation of Glassmoon in 2015. Carole’s initial concept of RUBY symbolised resilience and optimism, evolving from her doctoral research on overcoming gender biases in careers. This led to the founding of Glassmoon Strategies, a consultancy dedicated to building high-performing organisations in childcare, healthcare, and social care.

In 2016, Glassmoon Digital was launched to develop apps enhancing intersectional inclusion and work/life balance. By April 2017, Carole had fully realised The Attainment Model, featuring five key factors: Flexible Mindset, Financial Freedom, Fulfilling Working Life, Career Ecosystem, and Cultural Context.

Inspired by the Netflix series ‘When They See Us,’ Carole expanded her vision to include understanding intersecting identities, resulting in the web platform ‘SeeMe’. This approach was integrated into Glassmoon Services, which launched in 2019, and led to the creation of RUBY MVP in 2020, meaning “Reflect, Understand, Becoming You.” This coincided with the incorporation of Glassmoon Homes (About our gropually called Nell Homes after her late granny), specialising in supported living accommodations.
